Paul de Lamerie produced some of the most outstanding cream boats and jugs of the 18th century. This particular example is not especially large which is, perhaps, its most endearing feature. Fashioned in the popular rococo style of the time, the proportions, balance and overall mix of plain and decorated surfaces only confirm De Lamerie as one of the true masters of this genre. A delighful and useable piece.
