Grape Scissors first appeared around 1800 and resembled a pair of plain scissors with slightly angled handles to the blades. By the 1820's the blades changed into a stepped form which remained in fashion throughout the 19th century. Storr's examples are amongst the best ever produced and although he made "flatware pattern" scissors the cast stemmed types are superb. This pair is engraved with the crest of Blakeney or a variation of that spelling.
