This is a good and heavy example of an Irish skewer unusually stamped with the retailer's name of Matthew West. The marks are extrememly clear and the end has not been cut down or re-shaped. The crest is that of a bird which may well be a crow as it is engraved with horizontal and vertical intersecting lines. In heraldry this is sable or black and as such is shared by many families.
